Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Veda Digital Solutions Pty Ltd (ABN 21 690 553 621 / ACN 690 553 621), an Australian proprietary limited company that operates the Price Matcher app (together with its web and mobile products, “Price Matcher”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when merchants and their shoppers use the app and related services (together, the “Service”). Veda Digital Solutions Pty Ltd is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR, UK GDPR, and equivalent legislation.

Information we process

• Store data — your shop domain, products, collections, prices, and orders, accessed through the Shopify Admin API to evaluate and fulfil price-match requests.
• Customer data — for a price-match order we process the shopper’s name, email, phone, and shipping address to create the draft order and send the invoice. We may create a customer record in your store on your behalf.
• Price-match submissions — the competitor URL a shopper provides, and the extracted competitor product title, price, and availability.
• Mobile app pairing — if you use our companion approvals app, we store a device push token and a pairing token so we can notify you and authorise the device.
• Billing usage — a count of price-match checks per billing period, used to apply your plan and any overage.

How we use it

• To match a submitted competitor price against your catalogue and your configured rules.
• To create draft orders and send invoices for approved matches.
• To send you review notifications and send shoppers transactional emails.
• To operate billing and prevent abuse.

Service providers

We share the minimum necessary data with:

• Shopify — the platform your store runs on.
• OpenAI — to compare a submitted product against yours (product title and page text only; never customer personal data).
• ScrapingBee — to fetch the public competitor page the shopper links to.
• Resend — to send transactional email.
• Expo — to deliver push notifications to the companion app.

We do not sell personal data.

Retention & deletion

We keep request and settings data while the app is installed. We honour Shopify’s GDPR webhooks: on customers/redact we delete that customer’s request records; on shop/redact (sent after uninstall) we delete all data we hold for your store. You can also email us to request deletion.

Security

Access tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser. Webhooks are verified with HMAC signatures. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and encrypted at rest.
